Thirty minute boat cruises are available from Luss Pier, whilst Cruise Loch Lomond operates from Tarbet a little way to the north. At the south end, in Balloch, both Mullen's Cruises and Sweeney's Cruises sail Loch Lomond; meanwhile from Balmaha, over on the east shore, you can take the Mailboat cruise round the Islands, stopping off on Inchmurrin island for lunch at the Inchmurrin Hotel on certain days of the week. Water skiing is popular around the Duck Bay Marina area of the Loch. Tuition is available during the summer season.
Alternatively, you might opt to take a cruise on the Waverley, the world's last sea-going paddle steamer. On Saturdays, the Waverley cruises to Rothesay and the Kyles of Bute, with time ashore at Tighnabruaich; On Thursdays, the paddle steamer journeys to Rothesay, Millport and Brodick on the beautiful island of Arran, known as "Scotland in miniature." Additional cruise destinations include Pladda and the Holy Isle.
Both cruises can be booked at the Tourist Information Centre, Helensburgh or you can take your chances on the day.  Recent experience has shown that having a pre-booked ticket is the best bet!
